While playing on a typical 18-hole golf course, a golfer walks up to five miles, which adds up to about three to five hours of standing and walking. In addition to spending many hours on your feet, the biomechanics of a powerful, successful swing also rely on properly-positioned feet. Golf shoes should therefore be comfortable, lightweight, and well-cushioned, with a snugger-than-usual fit in the mid-shoe area for support during swings. They should be made of a breathable, water-resistant material. The sole should provide traction; serious golfers may choose to wear spikes for additional traction and stability. There are many different types of spikes available, and some golf courses have regulations as to what types of spikes can be worn. When trying on golf shoes, always wear the socks you will actually wear while golfing to ensure a proper shoe fit.
Dr. Alec Hochstein and his staff at Great Neck Family Foot Care are terrific. I have had a diabetic wound that would not heal for 15 years. In 8 visits the wound is healed and I can work and walk without pain or swelling. He is very competent, professional and sometimes funny. He answers question […]
Absolutely the best!! I was recommended to Dr. Hochstein after a unsuccessful bunion surgery where I had been through 5 months of pain, excessive swelling, and eventually a non-Union. I was told I had a healing problem and I’m 31 with no medical conditions. I didn’t know where to turn to or what to do […]
I have been a patient of Dr. Alec Hochstein for over 5 years. Dr. Hochstein and staff are like family. When anyone in my family ever has a foot complaint, or injury, and their have been many, I know help is only a phone call away. Although they are always busy, I have never had […]
The office atmosphere is excellent… (clean space and the staff is warm and friendly). Dr. Hochstein is amazing. He is very knowledgeable about his line of work (feet). As an woman who works full time in the office environment, I wear heels all the time. I am also a fitness instructor (part-time), so needless to […]
Awesome experience! Dr. Hochstein was great. He is very knowledgable and professional. He took the time to explain everything and his quirky humor always puts a smile on my face. The staff is also top notch. They are always very professional and extremely pleasant. You are always greeted with a smile. Highly recommend!!!
Such a pleasant experience. I had an emergency foot problem and Dr.Hochstein took me in the next day. He is such a personable, kind person and I would recommend him to anybody!
Dr. Alec Hochstein takes patients from start to finish when it comes to wound care. He is not satisfied until the wound is completely healed. His methods of treatment for non-healing diabetic ulcers is notable. I approached Dr. Hochstein in August of 2014, with a persistent non-healing Diabetic Ulcer. The Ulcer was deep and rather […]
Recently I sent a dear friend to Dr. Hochstein for a chronic non-healing wound. The wound had been open for over a year and other health care providers in the area had been unsuccessful in getting it to heal. Not only did Dr. Hochstein heal her wound, but within a matter of weeks. She raved […]
